Terms of Service

Governing access, school responsibilities, examiner standards, intellectual property, and limitations of liability on the Matigo Examinations platform.

Important Institutional Disclaimer: Independent Private BoardMatigo Examinations Board is an independent private commercial mock examination platform in Uganda. Matigo Examinations Board is not owned, operated, endorsed by, or affiliated with the Government of Uganda or the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB). All assessments are diagnostic and simulated preparatory evaluations.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing, browsing, registering an account on, or submitting data to the Matigo Examinations Board platform (available at matigoexams.org), you ("User", "School Administrator", "Institution", "Examiner", "Marks Entrant", or "Visitor") agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service, along with our Privacy Policy, Data Processing Agreement (DPA), and Examiner Confidentiality Agreement.

If you register or use this platform on behalf of an educational institution, you warrant that you are a duly authorized representative possessing full legal authority to bind such institution.

2. Description of Services

Matigo Examinations Board provides a comprehensive digital assessment infrastructure designed for Ugandan schools offering Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE), and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) curricula.

  • Candidate Management: Tools for schools to enroll candidates and allocate subject combinations.
  • Examination Coordination: Packaging and distribution of mock examination papers and standardized mark schemes.
  • Examiner Workbench: Secure physical scoring and digital score entry portal with automated UNEB-aligned grading aggregation engines.
  • Institutional Analytics & Result Slips: Instant computation of divisional summaries, subject aggregates, and downloadable digital result slips.

3. School Responsibilities & Student Data Warranty

Schools enrolling candidates on the platform warrant and covenant that:

  • The school possesses lawful statutory authority or valid parental/guardian consent to submit minor candidates' details (names, index numbers, gender, marks) for academic processing.
  • All uploaded spreadsheets and UNEB draft register PDFs are genuine, unaltered, and accurate representations of the candidate body.
  • The school administrator shall keep their account credentials secure and restrict access strictly to authorized school staff.

4. Examiner Conduct & Scoring Authenticity

Examiners and Marks Entrants registered on the platform agree to adhere strictly to the Examiner Confidentiality Terms. Any unauthorized alteration of marks, score manipulation, favoritism, disclosure of test items, or bribery will result in immediate permanent expulsion, account termination, and potential reporting to educational and legal authorities.

5. Intellectual Property Rights

All mock examination papers, questions, standardized mark schemes, diagnostic reports, algorithms, trademarks, and software code are the proprietary intellectual property of Matigo Examinations Board.

Registered schools are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use examination materials solely for designated registered candidates. Commercial resale, republication, or unauthorized public distribution of Matigo examination materials is strictly prohibited.

6. Commercial Terms & Invoices

Assessment tariffs, paper fees, and processing charges are specified in proforma invoices issued through the school portal. Invoices must be settled in accordance with the specified terms. Matigo Examinations Board reserves the right to withhold result slips or suspend assessment access for delinquent accounts.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by the laws of Uganda:

  • Matigo Examinations Board shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use or inability to use the platform.
  • Our maximum aggregate liability for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the total assessment fees paid by the institution to Matigo Examinations Board during the twelve (12) months preceding the incident.

8. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Uganda. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kampala, Uganda.
